Happy New Year to all. Wishing everyone all the best in 2015. I have already broken some of my resolutions but then they are made to be broken right lol.
I love the holiday season but by the end I am happy it is over, well except for having to get back to work that is. That will always be the same... just a job to make money from ... nothing special. NOTE to the younger people ... STAY in school and make something of yourself. Go for what interests you the most and never settle for a factory job that you will come to hate.
Today I will go to my nieces and make a card or two with quilling on it. There is so much to chose from in that medium. Takes a lot of time but I do find it rather relaxing... unless you have someone around who seems to wait till you are busy to want to talk or make noise or something that screws up your concentration. Same with when you are knitting and have to count your first row., The phone rings or the door knocks lol. Oh well, when I get the back room cleaned out I can go there to do my crafts. Which my list of crafts is getting longer and longer., And I have rubbed off on my niece in that way as she has quite a few too.
Knitting
Crochet
Quilling
Ceramics
Card making
Iris fold cards
and on and on .......
When on pinterest I see quite a few blogs that have to do with quilling. Some very beautiful work done on those blogs. Only trouble is that some of them are in a different language and can't be translated. But they have great pictures that help figure things out if you want to take the time to do so.
The quilling I did for my sister I was not happy with. I felt rushed, especially the last one I worked on. Still working on it Christmas morning. I was getting dinner ready , taking care of the family pets and it all seemed rushed. So the last one is lacking the quilling I would of liked to do for it. Maybe I will take my kit out and do some more on it before she hangs them. If she hangs them as I am not sure she was happy with them either :) Well they are my first quilling works so with time I will get better at it.
Beginning to knit and crochet some more scarves for the Womens shelter in nearby city. I will try to make some afghans too as I find them very comforting on a cold evening. Doing this while watching tv helps me immensely in several ways. Relaxing for one. Helps me with keeping my hands busy so I don't eat all the time. And hands busy so they do not seize up what with the beginnings of arthritis in them.
That is about it for now. Going to go find more websites of interest to add here in hopes they help anyone who drops in and read my blog.
Take care all...
